Failure Analysis Engineer (Medical Technology)

Location: On-site in Irvine, California, United States

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annual base salary, plus target bonus/incentive pay of 10% of annual base salary.

What you will do

• Perform root cause analysis for customer-returned, newly manufactured, and prototype devices, sensors, and cables.
• Analyze and troubleshoot electronic circuits at system, module, component, and circuit-board levels.
• Use schematics and circuit layouts to isolate device, component, and process failures.
• Conduct investigations with electrical test equipment, CT X-ray scanning, optical microscopy, thermal imaging, FTIR spectroscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and environmental chambers.

Requirements

• On-site availability in Irvine, California, United States.
• At least 1 year of quality control testing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical engineering and troubleshooting for electromechanical products at the device, circuit-board, and component levels.
• Experience using equipment such as microscopes, digital cameras, calipers, digital multimeters, and oscilloscopes.

Nice to have

• Experience with repair operations and support services for circuit-board and component-level troubleshooting.
• Experience with FDA regulations.
