TL;DR
Information Security Specialist (Intermediate-Level) (Cybersecurity): Supporting RMF activities, vulnerability management, authorization packages, and cybersecurity compliance for mission-critical government information systems with an accent on DoD requirements, NIST standards, and security control validation. Focus on maintaining POA&Ms and eMASS documentation, tracking vulnerability remediation, supporting audits, and improving enterprise system security.

Location: Orlando, Florida, USA; non-remote

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annually

What you will do

  • Support Risk Management Framework activities, security authorization efforts, and accreditation documentation for government information systems.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, standards, and security controls.
  • Identify, track, report, and support remediation of IAVMs, ICVMs, and other security findings.
  • Support security assessments, compliance reviews, audits, inspections, continuous monitoring, and cybersecurity evaluations.
  • Maintain cybersecurity records, system documentation, user agreements, access authorizations, POA&Ms, and eMASS packages.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, systems administration, operational teams, and government stakeholders to improve system security and compliance.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • Four or more years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, information security programs, or cybersecurity operations.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification or higher, such as Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP.
  • Experience with RMF, vulnerability management, cybersecurity compliance, accreditation activities, eMASS, POA&M management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with DoD cybersecurity requirements, NIST standards, enterprise security controls, technical documentation, and compliance reporting.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, CySA+, CASP+, CISSP Associate, CISM, or similar certification.
  • Experience with ACAS, Trellix, enterprise vulnerability management tools, NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DISA STIGs.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense environments, mission-critical systems, and high-visibility customers.
  • Knowledge management, process development, technical documentation, and strong organizational skills.
