TL;DR
Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer (ISSM) (Cybersecurity/RMF): Securing and accrediting an Air Operations Center weapon system through RMF, A&A, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps pipeline security with an accent on NIST SP 800-53, eMASS, ACAS/Nessus, and DISA STIG compliance. Focus on maintaining ATO authorization, analyzing vulnerabilities and security incidents, coordinating remediation, and protecting multi-classification networks.

Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; onsite role

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 annually

What you will do

  • Advise the Program Manager and Authorizing Official on cybersecurity for the Air Operations Center weapon system.
  • Lead Assessment and Authorization activities and maintain the system’s Authorization to Operate using eMASS.
  • Manage continuous monitoring, vulnerability scanning, configuration hardening, and compliance across multi-classification networks.
  • Report security incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans and POA&Ms.
  • Coordinate authorization, system changes, cybersecurity documentation, and remediation with program and authorization stakeholders.
  • Operate and support ACAS infrastructure, including Nessus scanners, Tenable.sc, and Tenable.asm.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must hold and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of Department of War cybersecurity experience executing RMF under NIST SP 800-53.
  • IAM Level III certification required.
  • Networking fundamentals, Windows and Linux familiarity, analytical skills, and strong written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience with the Tenable ACAS suite, including Nessus, Tenable.sc, and Tenable.asm.
  • Security+ or another relevant cybersecurity certification.
  • Python or PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense security policies and procedures.
