Facility Manager (Data Center)

Location: San Antonio, TX; onsite position with participation in a 24 X 7 X 365 rotation and extended onsite hours during emergencies.

What you will do

• Manage daily operations and maintenance of cooling, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, security, cable plant, fiber entrance, raised floor, and building automation systems.
• Troubleshoot critical infrastructure issues using test equipment, monitoring platforms, automation, and control applications.
• Maintain facility capacity reporting, environmental monitoring, asset tracking, maintenance schedules, inventories, and vendor relationships.
• Coordinate access control and security issue resolution with the Security Manager, including post-mortems.
• Support customer implementations, review and close tickets, create service delivery procedures, and coordinate training.
• Lead facility personnel, subcontractors, maintenance activities, SLA reporting, and emergency response operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical experience in a high-availability environment such as data centers, manufacturing, or hospitals.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including Caterpillar generator sets, Square D paralleling gear, MGE UPS systems, Trane chiller plants and pumps, smoke detection, and fire alarm systems.
• Experience with cable plant design and management, building automation, monitoring, and control systems such as Trane Tracer Summit, SquareD PowerLogic, Caterpillar/ISO Power Lynx, and Eaton Foreseer.
• Experience with energy audits and project management, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, delegation, and customer service skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field; relevant work experience may substitute for the degree.
• Must be able to work onsite, participate in a 24 X 7 X 365 rotation, and adjust hours during emergency situations.

Nice to have

• AutoCAD and Visio experience.
• Certified Plant Engineer, Certified Plant Maintenance Manager, or similar facilities-based certification.
