What you will do

  • Develop transient startup and shutdown simulations for the Archimedes engine family.
  • Develop and maintain valve sequences and test campaigns for engine transient verification.
  • Support test-site and vehicle transient campaigns through data review, model grounding, and valve-sequence updates.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for engine transients.
  • Coordinate with engine leads on subcomponent and vehicle-system requirements.
  • Create and maintain data-processing tools and engine performance models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience for Analyst II or 5+ years for Senior Analyst I in fluids-system analysis of a cryogenic liquid propulsion rocket engine.
  • Demonstrated expertise using or building a lumped-parameter fluid-analysis tool.
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and fluid-system design fundamentals.
  • For US office work, candidates must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements, including qualifying US citizenship, permanent residency, refugee/asylee status, or required government authorizations.
  • The role may involve prolonged sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in a fluid-mechanics-heavy field.
  • Experience designing and operating staged-combustion rocket engine systems or components.
  • Experience with ROCETS engine transient simulation software.
  • Experience with Methyl/LOX fluid systems.

Culture & Benefits

  • Employee stock grant and Employee Stock Purchase Program with a 15% discount.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, including HMO, PPO, and zero-cost HDHP options with HSA contributions.
  • Paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, paid parental leave, disability and life insurance.
