Staff Software Engineer, Frontend (React/TypeScript)

What you will do

• Own technical execution for consumer web, checkout, mobile, and supporting backend services.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex initiatives while contributing directly to production code.
• Set technical direction, translate product goals into engineering plans, and manage tradeoffs, dependencies, and delivery risks.
• Improve the consumer journey across discovery, performance, accounts, checkout, payments, and post-purchase fulfillment.
• Own production quality through observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
• Mentor engineers, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and reduce technical debt.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership for a team or major product area.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, React Native, Expo, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience integrating with Rails or Python backends and building high-traffic consumer web and mobile applications.
• Experience with AWS, Vercel, containerized or serverless workloads, API design, distributed systems, authentication, caching, and asynchronous workflows.
• Strong foundations in observability, monitoring, incident response, comprehensive testing, and end-to-end system ownership.
• Ability to lead through influence, communicate technical tradeoffs, and connect engineering decisions to performance, reliability, conversion, and customer trust.

Nice to have

• Experience with e-commerce, checkout, payments, marketplaces, ticketing, or multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
