Senior GIS Technical Specialist

Location: Pomona, California, US; hybrid work required at an SCE facility, with employees required to work and reside in California. The role includes 10–15% travel and field work throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $101,900–$152,800 per year

What you will do

• Perform advanced GIS and geospatial data analysis, including scripts, tools, and models that improve data flow and quality.
• Lead data remediation, quality control, and asset updates to align GIS records with field conditions.
• Create high-quality analytical, business, presentation, public-use, and ad hoc map products.
• Develop online mapping tools using ArcGIS Online, Survey123, and Field Maps, and support GIS web services and applications.
• Design and implement procedures that improve mapping standards, GIS tools, and operational efficiency.
• Support incident management, major capital projects, fire mitigation, environmental analysis, stakeholder consulting, and staff training.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in GIS and/or data analysis.
• Experience with geospatial software and data processing, analysis, and modeling.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners, assess project requirements, and address complex GIS problems.
• Ability to produce technical documentation and explain technical approaches clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Must work and reside in California and report to an SCE facility for a set number of days.
• Availability for 10–15% travel and field work throughout the SCE service territory.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or Computer Science with an emphasis in GIS.
• Project management experience, including planning, coordination, deadline tracking, and client communication.
• Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS 10.0 or higher, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Field Maps, Web AppBuilder, and Experience Builder.
• Specialized GIS education or certification.
