Senior Spacecraft Flight Software Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop reliable flight software governing spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operations throughout the mission.
• Build structured bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Own software design, development, testing, verification, validation, and integration.
• Capture requirements and perform initial design trade studies for open-ended spacecraft problems.
• Support system quality, performance, flight operations, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
• 5+ years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
• Strong C++ development experience and understanding of core language concepts.
• Must work on-site in El Segundo, California.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• End-to-end experience building and launching a spacecraft.
• Real-time embedded systems and aerospace safety-critical software experience.
• CCSDS telemetry and telecommand experience, or familiarity with F' or cFS.
• Experience with Python or Rust and knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, CAN, or EtherCAT.
