Staff Accountant (SaaS)

Build an OpenTelemetry-native, AI-centric observability SaaS platform with transparent pricing and built-in cost control.

What you will do

• Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, and recurring accounting areas.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, flux analysis, and documentation tied to the general ledger.
• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including vendor onboarding, invoice coding, approvals, payment runs, corporate cards, and employee expenses.
• Support US sales tax compliance, state and local registrations, annual filings, and external tax preparation.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions across US and non-US entities, including consolidation support.
• Improve ERP data quality, automate manual finance processes, and partner with cross-functional teams on vendor, contract, and expense matters.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in public accounting or a technology/SaaS company.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and the accrual-based close cycle.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable and account reconciliations.
• Experience with an ERP such as NetSuite, Rillet, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or a similar system.
• Ability to analyze large data exports in Excel or Sheets using pivots, lookups, and subledger-to-GL reconciliation.

Nice to have

• CPA license.
• Experience with non-US entities, especially in Germany or the Netherlands.
• Exposure to SaaS or usage-based billing, deferred revenue, multi-entity accounting, intercompany activity, or consolidations.
• Familiarity with Anrok, ERP implementations, or sales tax automation.
• Experience in an early-stage startup where accounting processes were still being built.
