Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; hybrid work with an in-person interview stage

Annual salary: CAD 144,000–176,000; typical starting salary: CAD 160,000

What you will do

• Own features across design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Manage production systems and optimize infrastructure for availability, scalability, and resilience.
• Build end-to-end banking product features in collaboration with Product, Design, and other functions.
• Identify technical, process, and product improvements and influence long-term technical strategy.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code quality, performance, and development practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Experience leading significant components or features with minimal oversight.
• Ability to take ownership end-to-end, solve problems proactively, and work through ambiguity.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including giving and receiving feedback.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js is relevant to the primary technology stack.

Nice to have

• Experience in startups or high-growth technology companies.
• JavaScript experience.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and continuous deployment pipelines.
