Grad Co-op — Computational Safety Modeling for Small Molecules

Location: United States — Remote; students must be located in the United States for the duration of the program

Base pay: $35.34–$41.20 per hour

What you will do

• Curate and compare chemical structures, assay results, exposure information, and other internal and external scientific data.
• Develop and evaluate structural-alert, analogue-based read-across, machine-learning, and evidence-integration approaches.
• Assess model performance, applicability, uncertainty, context of use, and limitations for relevant compounds.
• Collaborate with computational scientists, medicinal chemists, and toxicologists to guide compound prioritization and follow-up experiments.
• Present results, deliver reproducible analyses and documented model prototypes, and recommend further development.
• Support mechanisms for retraining models as additional data becomes available.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program.
• Must be available for a part-time schedule.
• Must be at least 18 years old and hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must remain enrolled in an accredited graduate program and complete the first year of the relevant MBA, master's, PharmD, or Ph.D. program before the assignment begins.
• U.S. work authorization is required for the duration of the program; sponsorship for future full-time roles is not guaranteed.
• Preferred preparation includes Python, scientific data analysis, statistical modeling, machine learning, cheminformatics, predictive toxicology, reproducible workflows, and version control.
