Director, Safety Data Science (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Horsham, Pennsylvania or Titusville, New Jersey, United States

Base pay: $164,000–$282,900 per year

What you will do

• Lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics, AI, machine learning, and data science capabilities for Global Medical Safety.
• Build scalable data pipelines, analytical data assets, models, dashboards, applications, and decision-support products.
• Apply predictive safety analytics, quality monitoring, operational analytics, risk assessment, translational analytics, and strategic decision-making methods.
• Partner with Information Technology, Digital, healthcare, safety, and real-world data stakeholders.
• Communicate scientific insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical leadership audiences.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop analytics professionals while driving adoption of new analytical capabilities.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Informatics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline; PhD preferred.
• Significant experience leading advanced analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, healthcare analytics, medical safety analytics, or related scientific functions.
• Experience supporting medical safety, pharmacovigilance, real-world evidence, healthcare analytics, or related life-science functions.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL, with expertise in statistical methods, predictive modeling, machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and large language models.
• Experience building end-to-end analytical solutions and deploying production-grade AI/ML capabilities using MLOps, CI/CD, and model lifecycle management practices.
• Strong scientific leadership, communication, stakeholder management, regulatory awareness, validation, governance, and responsible AI skills.
