Senior Data Engineer Consultant (GCP)

Location: Brussels, Belgium; flexible work from the office, home, and client sites.

What you will do

• Lead client engagements and co-design data engineering solutions from strategy through execution.
• Design scalable data architectures and pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Implement cloud and distributed data solutions using GCP and technologies such as AWS, Azure, Spark, and Kafka.
• Apply batch, streaming, and real-time integration patterns and enable CI/CD and DataOps practices.
• Manage stakeholders and advise middle- and senior-level client management.
• Develop internal data engineering offerings, contribute to thought leadership, support business development, and mentor junior and medior consultants.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent academic research.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud data and AI/ML services, cloud architecture, IAM, cost optimization, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with data engineering, database design, data modeling, distributed systems, and integration patterns.
• Fluent English and fluent Dutch or French are required.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, mentoring, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, Spark, Kafka, relational, NoSQL, time-series, or graph databases.
• Interest or experience in data and AI-related topics, energy, or finance.
