Senior Engineering Manager (m/f/n) – Payments & Checkout (Fintech)

InPost Group operates a large European out-of-home e-commerce delivery platform and develops InPost Pay, an integrated checkout and payments product with ambitions in digital wallets, embedded finance, and AI-assisted commerce.

What you will do

• Lead and scale an engineering organization of approximately 24–25 engineers across three teams.
• Develop Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and senior engineering talent while building a leadership pipeline.
• Establish technical, architectural, delivery, SDLC, governance, and engineering operating standards.
• Shape technology strategy with Product, Business, and Engineering stakeholders and manage cross-team dependencies.
• Drive AI adoption to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and operational efficiency.
• Define and improve KPIs, OKRs, SLAs, engineering metrics, delivery effectiveness, platform reliability, and customer outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership.
• Experience managing Engineering Managers and multi-team engineering organizations in large-scale product environments.
• Strong technical background as a Software Engineer, with hands-on Java and Spring Boot or an equivalent enterprise microservices stack such as .NET/C#.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, cloud environments, and modern backend engineering.
• Experience implementing or scaling AI-enabled engineering practices and tools.
• Ability to use engineering metrics and measurable outcomes to guide technology and organizational decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, digital payments, checkout platforms, embedded finance, digital wallets, or transaction-heavy products.
• Experience in technology scale-ups or regulated crypto fintech environments.
• Experience with Google Cloud, management dashboards, and data analytics for strategic decisions.
• Demonstrated impact of AI adoption on engineering velocity, developer experience, or software quality.
