Quality Engineer (Battery Energy Storage)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States. This is an onsite, full-time role. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated and assembled battery energy storage enclosures.
• Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.
• Monitor contract manufacturer and supplier quality performance, including audits, reviews, containment, and corrective actions.
• Investigate manufacturing defects, support root cause analysis, and verify corrective action effectiveness.
• Maintain inspection reports, quality plans, audit records, and quality metrics.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and external suppliers on quality concerns and improvement projects.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field.
• 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or quality assurance.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and Pareto.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, inspection equipment, measurement tools, and quality control methodologies.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with metal fabrication, industrial equipment, battery energy storage, or enclosure fabrication.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers.
• Certified Quality Technician or similar certification.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
