PMO Team Lead (On Premise)

Location: Stockport, England, United Kingdom; on-premise. Flexible working hours may be required to support collaboration across multiple regions and time zones.

Salary: £45,500–£50,125 gross per year, with placement based on experience, skills, and internal equity.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5–6 Project and Programme Managers.
• Manage project demand, prioritisation, resource allocation, portfolio performance, governance, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Lead 1–2 strategic projects or programmes alongside people management responsibilities.
• Drive the identification, escalation, and resolution of risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
• Ensure production readiness, sign-offs, governance requirements, and project documentation standards are completed.
• Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver transformation outcomes and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Programme Management, Project Management, PMO leadership, or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering large-scale business, technology, operations, or transformation programmes.
• Experience leading project and programme management teams, including geographically dispersed and virtual teams.
• Strong portfolio, programme, project governance, risk management, decision-making, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
• Experience with project and portfolio management tools such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, Jira, or similar platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; fluent English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, MSP, or equivalent project management certification.
