DevSecOps Engineer (TS/SCI)

Location: Herndon, Virginia; onsite work in a SCIF for 40 hours per week is required. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold an active TS/SCI clearance.

Salary: $116,000–$154,000–$169,400 annually, depending on location, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Build command-line tools, APIs, dashboards, and production-quality software to automate cybersecurity and developer workflows.
• Develop automation for vulnerability correlation, compliance tracking, remediation, security exceptions, and software approval evidence.
• Deploy and operate highly available applications, Kubernetes and HashiCorp Nomad clusters, and private cloud workloads.
• Design and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
• Build and manage GitLab or equivalent CI/CD pipelines with integrated security testing and static code analysis.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate applications, virtual machines, networks, operating systems, and infrastructure.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, and willingness to pass a CI polygraph are required.
• At least 5 years of DevSecOps experience and at least 3 years of software development or software engineering experience, with a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent master's-level qualification.
• Professional experience designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining software in Python, Go, Java, C#, or a similar language; Python or comparable application development experience is required.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, Kubernetes, Docker, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and source control.
• Experience applying DevSecOps security practices with tools such as Trivy, GitLab SAST, SonarQube, or Grype.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows systems, web services, SQL databases, networking, load balancing, monitoring, and Agile development.

Nice to have

• Security+, RHCSA, LPIC, CKA, or Docker Certified Associate certification.
• Experience with distributed processing, REST APIs, microservices, IaaS/PaaS services, and web services.
• Experience implementing Docker STIGs or performing CONMON cybersecurity remediation.
