Sr DevSecOps Engineer (DevSecOps)

Location: Hybrid in Fort Meade, Maryland; three days per week on-site and must be local to Maryland with the ability to commute to Ft. Meade. Travel: 10%.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annually, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Design and maintain declarative GitOps CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.
• Integrate SAST, DAST, container and dependency scanning, and SBOM generation into automated delivery pipelines.
• Implement policy-as-code and automated governance controls for DoDI 8430 and cATO requirements.
• Author hardened container definitions, remediate CVEs, automate OpenSCAP/STIG validation, and guide containers through Iron Bank and Repo One certification.
• Architect and refactor microservices and APIs using Go, Python, Java, or Rust, with unit, integration, and contract testing.
• Support secure software delivery across defense cloud environments and mission-critical systems.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher required.
• Must be local to Maryland and able to work on-site at Ft. Meade as required.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, systems engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on administration and configuration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Experience with Ansible configuration management and automation, plus Bash and Python scripting.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and integrating SAST, DAST, or container scanning.

Nice to have

• Experience with DoD Software Factories such as Platform One, Kessel Run, or Army Software Factory.
• Experience with Iron Bank onboarding, Repo One merge requests, VAT findings, and automated container hardening.
• Knowledge of the DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design and CNSSI requirements.
