TL;DR
Senior Software Architect (AI/Healthcare): Designing end-to-end architectures for digital health and Software as a Medical Device products across mobile apps, backend services, connected devices and cloud platforms with an accent on Java, Spring, AI-augmented development and regulated software. Focus on defining app-to-cloud integration, setting reliable AI engineering guardrails, and guiding teams through complex architectural trade-offs.
Location: Vienna, Austria; the role is based in the Vienna office and includes around 10% travel, mostly between Vienna and Sant Cugat.
Minimum salary: EUR 3,843 gross per month; higher compensation may be offered based on experience.

What you will do
- Own end-to-end architecture across native mobile, backend and the navify cloud.
- Create technical designs, architecture decision records and C4 models that guide implementation.
- Design modular Java and Spring backend services and data and integration flows across identity, consent, notifications, AI and FHIR capabilities.
- Shape the AI-augmented software development lifecycle using agentic tools such as Claude and ChatGPT.
- Define guardrails for reliable and accountable AI-assisted engineering in regulated environments.
- Guide squads through technical decisions, design reviews, prototyping, mentoring and audit-ready documentation.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Software Architect designing systems across mobile, backend and cloud.
- Expertise in Java, Spring, modular and domain-driven design, APIs, integrations, cloud-native patterns, DevOps and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI development tools and the ability to assess their results critically.
- Ability to produce technical designs, decision records and C4 models and help teams reach decisions.
- Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to prototype and lead through technical expertise.
Nice to have
- Experience with FHIR and healthcare data standards.
- Experience with identity and consent platforms, reference architectures or platform teams.
- Deeper Software as a Medical Device experience.
- Experience with a major cloud provider.
