Sr. COBOL Developer

What you will do

• Maintain and enhance a large legacy securities system built on PICK BASIC and MultiValue technology.
• Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure and platform capabilities based on changing requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across applications, databases, infrastructure, deployments, and system integrations.
• Support developers and QA teams by diagnosing technical challenges and removing blockers.
• Participate in the full software engineering lifecycle, sprint planning, design reviews, code reviews, and testing activities.
• Mentor team members and contribute to technical decisions while maintaining bank security and audit standards.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Mainframe, COBOL, PICK BASIC, MultiValue, Universe, or other legacy enterprise systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Linux or Unix environments and software development tools.
• Ability to analyze complex codebases, databases, and system integrations.
• Ability to work across multiple technologies and learn unfamiliar systems quickly.

Nice to have

• Java and Spring experience.
• DB2 or MultiValue database experience.
• Financial services or securities industry background.
• Technical leadership or mentoring experience.
