Laboratory Operations & Safety Officer (Quantum Computing): Coordinating laboratory and semiconductor cleanroom operations while developing scalable procedures, EHS systems, and safety programmes with an accent on hazardous chemicals, specialty gases, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. Focus on commissioning new cleanroom facilities, implementing chemical safety controls, coordinating audits and inspections, and maintaining personnel emergency preparedness.

develops quantum processors using its VIO™ QPU architecture and is expanding its R&D laboratories with a new semiconductor cleanroom.
What you will do
- Coordinate laboratory and cleanroom operations, including procurement, inventory, asset tracking, storage, logistics, calibration, maintenance, qualification, and vendor coordination.
- Develop and continuously improve laboratory and cleanroom procedures, work instructions, documentation, and support processes.
- Support the Health & Safety Officer with RI&E coordination, hazard identification, workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Implement safe working procedures for hazardous chemicals, specialty gases, emergency response, chemical compatibility, waste management, and environmental compliance.
- Support audits, inspections, regulatory compliance, safety performance monitoring, onboarding, safety training, and emergency response preparedness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in cleanroom operations, EHS, QHSE, laboratory operations, or a similar technical environment.
- Experience developing laboratory or cleanroom procedures and work instructions, and coordinating RI&E, risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety, hazardous chemicals, specialty gases, Safety Data Sheets, chemical compatibility, and EHS legislation.
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections in a highly regulated environment; semiconductor, high-tech, or cleanroom experience is advantageous.
- Fluent English, written and spoken, is required.
