Chapter Lead Data (Finance & Risk)

What you will do

• Lead a chapter of initially 10–12 data engineers and manage engineering leads hierarchically, including recruitment.
• Coach engineers and engineering leads, promote craftsmanship, continuous learning, and innovation.
• Guide the development of ING’s Finance & Risk Integrated Data Architecture (FRIDA), including data ingestion, data models, embedded engines, and data engineering.
• Define ways of working across requirements management, design, build, deployment, and operations.
• Balance Run and Change activities with a strong focus on IT risk.
• Partner with domain architects and the area leadership team to shape architecture, vision, resourcing, and delivery.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience as a data engineer developing data-intensive solutions such as data warehouses or other data-intensive applications.
• Experience addressing integration challenges where different applications model the same business domain in different ways.
• Proven experience managing application software at scale.
• Experience coaching engineers on engineering craftsmanship.
• Strong architecture, analysis, communication, consultancy, motivation, and influencing skills.
• Experience in financial services, particularly Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, or Financial Risk, is valued.
