Ventures Analyst I (Energy)

Location: Valencia, Spain; hybrid schedule with 3 days at the office and 2 days at home

What you will do

• Source startups for energy programs and other investment opportunities.
• Build relationships with local venture capital firms, universities, corporations, founders, and industry partners.
• Schedule and facilitate meetings between startups and corporate partners, including utilities, chemical manufacturers, oil and gas companies, and EPC firms.
• Curate startup lists and prepare trend reports and presentations on energy and new materials.
• Support investment partners with diligence, investment recommendations, portfolio support, and market mapping.
• Develop investment theses on emerging trends and frontiers within Smart Cities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Passion for energy, climate, cleantech, sustainability, and startup development.
• Advanced problem-solving skills with strategic, analytical, and creative thinking.
• Strong organization, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with Google Docs, Microsoft Office, CRMs, project management tools, and spreadsheets.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with C-suite executives and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Energy-related degree, particularly oil and gas, industrial, petroleum, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
• Advanced degree.
• Knowledge of oil and gas.
• Experience with energy-related or new materials projects.
• Experience with spreadsheet formulas, dashboards, charts, pivots, and analysis.
