Building Consultant

What you will do

• Conduct building condition assessments, technical due diligence inspections, and evaluations of asset condition, compliance, performance, risk, and functionality.
• Prepare technical reports, strategic recommendations, maintenance and capital expenditure forecasts, asset management plans, lifecycle strategies, and scopes of work.
• Manage refurbishment, replacement, and repair projects from initiation through completion.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors, and stakeholders while monitoring project progress, budgets, safety, and outcomes.
• Build client relationships, provide practical commercial advice, and support proposals and business development.
• Improve consultancy processes and systems, share knowledge, and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• Approximately 7–10 years of experience in property, construction, engineering, building surveying, or consultancy.
• 3–5 years of experience in building consultancy, advisory, or a similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of building fabric, structures, services, and asset lifecycles.
• Experience conducting building inspections, preparing technical reports, and managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Degree in building surveying, building engineering, asset engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related discipline.
• Strong client management, communication, organisation, and commercial problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Professional accreditation such as RICS, CIOB, Engineers Australia, or AIQS.
