TL;DR
Platform Lead - IT Infrastructure (Enterprise Infrastructure): Leading the design, operation, and continuous improvement of large-scale server, hosting, datacentre, edge, and Azure/AWS infrastructure across Energy, Commercial, and Retail businesses with an accent on resilience, security, automation, and operational reliability. Focus on directing complex infrastructure incidents, modernising on-premises and cloud platforms, and developing a team of 10+ technical engineers across a 24/7 enterprise environment.
Location: Melbourne, Australia. Full Australian working rights are required; unrestricted rights to work in Australia are mandatory.

What you will do
- Lead the design of secure, scalable, resilient infrastructure across datacentres, remote sites, edge environments, and Azure/AWS cloud platforms.
- Provide technical direction across Windows and Linux systems, VMware virtualisation, enterprise compute, storage, hosting, and identity platforms.
- Lead infrastructure implementations, upgrades, deployments, testing, troubleshooting, and proof-of-concept environments.
- Oversee availability, reliability, performance, security, patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance in a 24/7 operating environment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10+ technical engineers while coordinating with architects, developers, security specialists, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Drive automation, cost optimisation, infrastructure modernisation, incident response, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 15+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including 5+ years in a platform, infrastructure, or similar leadership role in a large enterprise.
- Extensive experience with complex server and hosting environments, datacentres, multi-site infrastructure, and on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Strong expertise in Windows and/or Linux, VMware, enterprise compute and storage, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Entra ID, and Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience with networking, monitoring, backup and recovery, patching, Azure Virtual Desktop, remote desktop technologies, IaC, automation, containerisation, PowerShell, and SQL scripting.
- Experience with complex infrastructure incidents, Level 3 escalation, DevOps and CI/CD practices, security protocols, technology roadmaps, budgets, and infrastructure projects.
- Full Australian working rights and unrestricted work authorisation in Australia are required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
