Software Engineering Specialist (C++)

Location: Christchurch, New Zealand; onsite five days a week

Company

hirify.global's CTCT division, a joint venture between Trimble and hirify.global, develops positioning and control products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, program, test, debug, and modify software applications and product enhancements.
• Architect robust solutions for complex software engineering problems with technical stewards.
• Develop and maintain machine control applications in C++ and web applications in Angular and TypeScript.
• Lead technical alignment, process improvements, software quality initiatives, and global team projects.
• Review code, mentor engineers across global locations, and collaborate with domain experts and software developers.
• Investigate customer reports and resolve complex product issues.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 7+ years of experience developing web applications or C++ applications in Windows or Linux environments, including technical leadership.
• Proven experience architecting solutions for complex engineering problems and leading cross-site technical changes.
• Strong C++, Angular, TypeScript, automated testing, and unit testing skills.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week in Christchurch, New Zealand.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAN, Ethernet, or other automotive communication and networking protocols.
• Android application development experience.
• Web browser-based UI software development experience.
• Experience with Golang.
