TL;DR
Software Engineer (C++/Angular): Developing cloud-connected embedded systems and web applications for heavy machinery and construction technology with an accent on embedded Linux, distributed systems, and machine-control interfaces. Location: Christchurch, New Zealand — on-site. Applicants must be legally entitled to work permanently in New Zealand. No travel is required.

What you will do
- Develop and evolve the Earthworks system for commissioning and operating heavy machinery with multiple sensing devices.
- Build embedded Linux software in C++.
- Create modern web applications with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Contribute to distributed system architecture by identifying subdomains and defining bounded contexts.
- Collaborate with domain experts and software engineers across international sites.
- Apply engineering practices covering quality, predictability, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional experience developing embedded software in C++.
- Hands-on experience building web applications with TypeScript and Angular or another modern JavaScript framework.
- Experience across the full software lifecycle, including specification, automated testing, CI/CD, and technical documentation.
- Permanent legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
Nice to have
- Experience with embedded devices in industrial or IoT environments.
