Software Engineer (C++/Angular) (Embedded Systems/Construction Technology): Developing cloud-connected embedded Linux systems and web applications for heavy machinery with an accent on C++, Angular, TypeScript, sensing devices, and distributed architecture. Focus on bridging embedded control systems with cloud connectivity, defining bounded contexts, and delivering reliable software for machine productivity and operator safety.
Location: On-site in Christchurch, New Zealand. Applicants must be legally entitled to work permanently in New Zealand. No travel is required.

What you will do
- Develop and evolve the Earthworks system for commissioning and operating heavy machinery with sensing devices.
- Build embedded Linux software in C++ and modern web applications with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Contribute to distributed system architecture by identifying subdomains and defining bounded contexts.
- Collaborate with domain experts and software engineers across international sites.
- Apply engineering practices covering specification, automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, quality, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional experience developing embedded software with C++.
- Hands-on experience building web applications with TypeScript and Angular or another modern JavaScript framework.
- Experience across the full software engineering lifecycle, including automated testing, CI/CD, and technical documentation.
- Permanent legal right to work in New Zealand.

- Experience with embedded devices in industrial or IoT settings.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in global, cross-functional teams.
