Network Engineer (Telecommunications)

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW; field operations across Blacktown and surrounding areas, Australia

What you will do

• Deliver, assure, and maintain switching, transmission, mobile, and enhanced service platforms across exchanges, hubs, customer sites, and other network facilities.
• Provide first-line technical support for UPS, DC power systems, HVAC, generators, fire systems, and building management systems.
• Respond to critical network incidents and restore consumer and enterprise services within SLA requirements.
• Monitor exchange and data centre environments and coordinate vendor and contractor work.
• Improve operational manuals, work instructions, and methods of procedure while supporting the development of field engineers and cadets.
• Provide remote contractor support and assist with portable generator and SatCat deployment during disaster response.

Requirements

• Availability for a 24/7 operational environment, including shift work, on-call, and recall arrangements.
• Technical qualification in Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with fixed transmission networks, digital systems, switching, HFC, mobile networks, 5G, and consumer products.
• Experience troubleshooting critical infrastructure such as DC systems, rectifiers, UPS, PDUs, HVAC, chillers, fire panels, and grounding systems.
• Practical experience working in exchanges or data centres and managing power and HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of Office 365, ServiceNow, Tableau, project documentation, rack layout diagrams, and floor plans.
