Head of Aircraft Quality (R6146)

What you will do

• Lead quality planning and execution for X-BAT prototype, pre-series, and production builds.
• Build and lead the aircraft quality organization for the X-Forge 3 manufacturing facility.
• Establish inspection, testing, build records, configuration control, and aircraft traceability.
• Own the Quality Management System, nonconformance and MRB processes, corrective actions, and audit readiness.
• Monitor production quality through first-pass yield, defects, rework, escapes, and manufacturing data.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and suppliers to prevent defects and ensure aircraft meet approved requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in quality, product assurance, or reliability within aerospace, defense technology, or high-reliability manufacturing.
• Experience leading quality through prototype or new product introduction into sustained production.
• Strong expertise in containment, root cause analysis, MRB, corrective and preventive action, and continuous improvement.
• Practical knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001, including certification readiness and audit leadership.
• Experience with complex assembly, inspection, configuration control, traceability, product acceptance, and cross-functional technical leadership.

• Experience taking a new aircraft program from prototype through production launch and rate ramp.
• Experience establishing quality capability at a new manufacturing facility or transferring production between sites.
• Experience with aircraft final assembly, systems integration, production testing, and reliability improvement.
• Experience deploying digital quality systems, statistical process controls, and data-driven defect prevention.
• Advanced degree in engineering, quality, or a related technical discipline.
