Sr. Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Onsite five days a week in East Peoria, Illinois or Irving, Texas. Relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $112,710–$183,140 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and implement a modern cloud-based Global Warranty Management solution.
• Build valuable business features and modernize legacy systems through Agile software development.
• Resolve complex application, technical, system, and infrastructure problems, including off-shift and weekend support.
• Design and refine prompts and system instructions for large language models supporting warranty workflows, decision support, reporting, and user assistance.
• Perform integrated, functional, performance, load, and customer acceptance testing.
• Mentor software engineers and collaborate with end users, internal customers, product managers, backend engineers, and designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least five years of hands-on application development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and JavaScript, with experience designing, configuring, and integrating software products.
• Experience with software testing methodologies, including functional, performance, and load testing.
• Ability to work independently on complex systems and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• Must work onsite five days a week in East Peoria, Illinois or Irving, Texas; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java 21+, Spring Boot, secure scalable applications, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with AWS, including ECS, Lambda, SNS, Kinesis, RDS, or DynamoDB.
• Front-end experience with TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JSX, React, or Angular.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Leadership on medium- to large-scale projects, Agile or Scrum experience, and experience creating prompts for AI tools.
