Area Service Manager (HVAC)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. Regular travel to customer job sites is required, including outdoor areas and mechanical or equipment rooms.

Annual base salary: $90,900.00–$130,059.99. Incentive eligible; not eligible for sales commission.

What you will do

• Lead service repair, upgrades, enhancements, service agreements, and new equipment installation activities.
• Own P&L responsibilities, revenue forecasting, budget control, service growth, and risk mitigation.
• Oversee service coordination for emergency repairs, maintenance contracts, installations, replacements, upgrades, and long-term agreements.
• Recruit, coach, train, and develop service employees and technicians while balancing skills and resources across the district.
• Improve margins, cash flow, invoicing, team utilization, transactional processes, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance for work performed in the shop and at customer sites.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in HVAC, technical systems, equipment, skilled trades, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience managing and coaching large teams and organizing work schedules.
• Project management skills for service projects, startups, and customer requests.
• Technology proficiency with Microsoft applications; Salesforce experience is an asset.
• Valid driver's license held for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations or preventable collisions in the previous three years.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and work around variable weather, moving mechanical parts, heights, and other environmental conditions.
