Quality Supervisor - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina; on-site five days per week

Annual base salary: $77,963.33–$109,340.00

What you will do

• Supervise plant quality inspectors across production lines and departments, assigning daily schedules and balancing coverage based on production demand, risk, and staffing.
• Oversee in-process, first-piece, last-piece, and final inspections, ensuring compliance with inspection plans, sampling methods, control plans, and work instructions.
• Lead shift start-up meetings, communicate quality alerts and production-floor issues, and ensure effective handoffs between shifts.
• Coach, evaluate, train, and support inspectors while coordinating hiring, onboarding, cross-training, qualification checks, and performance improvement actions.
• Review inspection findings, quality KPIs, escapes, rework, scrap, response times, and documentation errors to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with production, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, and operations teams to resolve nonconformances, process deviations, and product acceptance issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with extensive manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years of direct manufacturing inspection experience and 5+ years in a manufacturing quality control or assurance role.
• 2+ years of formal supervisory or team lead experience, including mentoring inspectors or leading shift handoffs.
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification.
• Awareness of Lean Manufacturing/5S, ISO 9001, or IATF 16949.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
