Secure Technology Apprentice (Cybersecurity Apprenticeship)

Location: East Peoria, Illinois, United States. Onsite apprenticeship with work hours designed to support coursework. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $28.70–$43.10 per hour

What you will do

• Complete multiple rotational placements in the IT division focused on cybersecurity.
• Contribute to the development of a cybersecurity customer portal.
• Collaborate with software developers on vulnerability scan remediation.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure and develop automated compliance guardrails.
• Create configuration guidelines for secure cloud technology implementations.
• Support cyber threat intelligence and project management processes.

Requirements

• Be a current first-year student at Illinois Central College or Nashville State Community College.
• Be enrolled in a transferable or non-transferable degree program and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Demonstrate cybersecurity or technology experience through extracurricular activities, personal projects, volunteer work, or related activities.
• Provide one faculty reference from the current institution.
• Complete a drug screen as a condition of employment.

Nice to have

• Prior full-time, part-time, internship, or volunteer experience in technology or cybersecurity.
• Foundational knowledge of Python, Java, .NET, or PowerShell.
