Reliability Technician V (Manufacturing Equipment)

Location: Onsite at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Travel is not anticipated unless required by business needs.

What you will do

• Serve as a senior technical resource for troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and reliability improvement of industrial production equipment.
• Perform advanced preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment diagnostics, repairs, and reliability analysis to improve uptime and asset availability.
• Lead complex diagnostics involving electromechanical systems, PLCs, servo systems, pneumatics, robotics, vision systems, dosing systems, molding systems, heat seal systems, and sterilizers.
• Apply RCPS and A3 problem-solving methods to eliminate recurring failures and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze maintenance history, downtime trends, failure modes, and predictive maintenance findings to improve maintenance strategies and asset management.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Asset Care teams while coaching technicians and equipment owners.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; technical certification, trade school, military technical training, or an associate degree is preferred.
• At least eight years of college, trade, military, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience in a technical field.
• Senior-level experience supporting electromechanical manufacturing systems, PLCs, pneumatics, automated equipment, and multiple equipment generations.
• Advanced knowledge of FDA, ISO, GMP, safety, and quality requirements in regulated manufacturing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least five advanced equipment technology areas, including predictive maintenance, servo systems, injection molding, sterilizers, vision systems, robotics, heat seal systems, PLC troubleshooting, or automated manufacturing controls.
• Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 23 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with reliability-centered maintenance, preventive maintenance optimization, predictive maintenance programs, asset care, or continuous improvement.
• Experience leading complex troubleshooting efforts, reliability investigations, or cross-functional equipment improvements.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt training.
