Sr Engineer III, Algorithm (Biomedical Signal Processing)

Location: On-site in Irvine, California, United States

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 annual salary, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, implementation, validation, and optimization of biomedical signal processing algorithms.
• Apply signal processing, statistical analysis, numerical modeling, and software development to improve algorithm performance, accuracy, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, Systems, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, and Product Management teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, technical problem solving, and engineering best-practice development.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, scientific literature, and industry trends to identify innovation opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience developing algorithms for biomedical signal processing or complex sensing applications.
• Advanced programming proficiency in MATLAB and C/C++; experience with Python or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and algorithm implementation considerations.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting large datasets using statistical methods.
• Ability to work on-site in Irvine, California.

Nice to have

• Experience developing hemodynamic, blood pressure, or physiological measurement algorithms for medical devices.
• Knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, pulse oximetry, or other noninvasive monitoring technologies.
• Experience in FDA-regulated medical device development environments.
