Lead Specialist, Financial Analysis

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Salary: $128,000–$170,000 annually, plus potential eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate monthly and quarterly management reporting, including US GAAP results, capital considerations, operational KPIs, trends, variances, and business drivers.
• Prepare leadership commentary, decision-useful insights, dashboards, recurring reporting packages, and ad hoc analyses.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, scenario analysis, and financial model maintenance.
• Lead FP&A workstreams, coordinate contributors, monitor dependencies, document decisions, and escalate material risks or reporting issues.
• Use Power BI and related tools to support data warehousing, multi-source integration, governed reporting, and scalable finance platforms including Oracle and AWS.
• Maintain data governance, controls, SOX documentation, root-cause analysis, remediation activities, and responsible use of AI-enabled analytics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of financial analysis experience, including insurance, financial services, or investment management.
• Expert knowledge of accounting and finance, with strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills for explaining complex information to diverse audiences.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and financial business systems.
• Ability to work the specified hybrid schedule with in-office attendance in Cedar Rapids.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI, financial data warehousing, governed dashboards, and integration of financial and operational data.
• Experience with AWS, Oracle, finance transformation, platform implementation, process automation, or data modernization.
• Familiarity with SOX controls, control testing, deficiency assessment, root-cause analysis, and remediation tracking.
• Exposure to AI-enabled analytics and emerging technologies for forecasting, anomaly detection, narrative reporting, or decision support.
• CPA, MBA, or a master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, analytics, or a related field.
