Engineering Manager (PHP/React/Vue)

Location: Remote; work may be performed from home or in a traditional office environment.

What you will do

• Own architecture design, delivery, roadmap, and long-term engineering outcomes for one team.
• Partner with Product to shape, scope, estimate, and deliver monthly roadmap commitments.
• Lead the cart, checkout, order, billing, and authentication systems supporting Quote to Cash and Customer Authentication.
• Write specifications, review pull requests, ship production changes, and operate the team’s AI-assisted engineering workflow.
• Improve DORA performance through testing, changed-code coverage gates, shorter review and build times, and evidence-based release decisions.
• Develop engineers, own hiring, manage on-call operations, and ensure incidents and operational toil are addressed.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least one year leading engineers formally or informally.
• Hands-on experience with Perl, PHP, React, Vue, Postgres, MariaDB, commerce systems, and payment-processing integrations.
• Recent hands-on software delivery experience, including reviewing AI-generated code and identifying correctness, security, and operational issues.
• Quantifiable experience applying AI-assisted engineering and improving team delivery speed using DORA metrics or an equivalent measurement framework.
• Experience delivering and modernizing production software, operating an on-call rotation, hiring engineers, and leading across time zones.
• Experience in managed hosting, cloud, or another high-availability service business is required.
