What you will do
- Define and lead the technical vision and roadmap for database infrastructure.
- Oversee the stability of mission-critical database systems and lead incident response.
- Manage, mentor, and hire a diverse team of Database Reliability Engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Platform Infrastructure, SRE, and Observability.
- Drive initiatives for cost optimization and architecture improvements without compromising reliability.
- Lead critical cloud-native migrations and define long-term operational models.
Requirements
- Experience managing or leading an engineering team with a focus on SRE, DBRE, or Infrastructure.
- Proven track record in managing incidents and conducting post-mortem processes.
- Technical background in database technologies like MySQL, TiDB, or PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of database internal architecture, performance tuning, and high availability.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical risks to stakeholders.
- English: B2 level required
- Japanese: B2 level required
Nice to have
- Experience with FinOps or cloud cost management.
- Background in software development (Go, Python) to understand developer experience.
- Knowledge of modern SRE practices, including SLO/SLI definition.
