Engineering Manager (Cloud Services)

Location: Remote; the role may be performed from home or a traditional office environment.

What you will do

• Own architecture design, delivery, roadmap, and long-term engineering outcomes for one Cloud Services team.
• Partner with Product to shape, scope, estimate, and deliver roadmap work on predictable monthly cycles.
• Stay hands-on by writing specifications, reviewing pull requests, shipping code, and operating AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Improve engineering performance toward DORA High and Elite through faster reviews, builds, environments, testing, and evidence-based release decisions.
• Manage cross-team dependencies, production on-call responsibilities, incident follow-up, and operational risk.
• Grow engineers through one-to-ones, feedback, development plans, and end-to-end hiring.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least one year leading engineers formally or informally.
• Hands-on experience with Perl, PHP, React, Vue, Postgres, MariaDB, CDN, WAF, and server security.
• Recent hands-on coding experience, including reviewing AI-generated code and identifying security, correctness, and operational issues.
• Demonstrated use of AI-assisted engineering with measurable impact and experience improving DORA metrics or equivalent delivery metrics.
• Experience delivering software to committed dates, operating production on-call rotations, hiring engineers, and leading across time zones.
• Experience in managed hosting, cloud, or another high-availability service business is required.
