Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Peoria, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Required travel: up to 25% domestically and internationally. Relocation assistance and US work sponsorship are not available.

Salary: $89,210–$133,810 per year.

What you will do

• Inspect, service, maintain, and calibrate laboratory testing instrumentation to maximize reliability and runtime.
• Document maintenance history and calibration compliance, train laboratory personnel, and coordinate specialized servicing with equipment manufacturers.
• Monitor maintenance activity, equipment downtime costs, and instrument availability.
• Diagnose hardware and software failures, perform root cause failure analysis, and resolve emergency breakdowns.
• Manage spare-parts inventory, improve ordering processes, and collaborate with procurement on backup suppliers.
• Support lean manufacturing, 5S, collaborative automation, cobot deployment, and robotic process automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering methods, manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and project management.
• Ability to analyze problems, make informed decisions, and implement safe manufacturing systems and processes.
• Knowledge of collaborative automation and robotic process automation, including developing and deploying automation solutions.
• Technical aptitude for troubleshooting scientific equipment, working with CMMS networks, and interpreting technical manuals.
• Ability to work under tight production deadlines and travel occasionally to support remote laboratories or vendor training.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is preferred.
