Security Operations Center Operator I, Full-time, Days

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, IL; full-time onsite. Schedule: 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week across five 8-hour shifts, with holiday requirements.

Salary: $24.29–$38.67 per hour.

What you will do

• Receive, prioritize, and respond to security calls, emails, alerts, and emergency notifications.
• Dispatch security personnel and coordinate responses to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarm systems, and other physical security technologies.
• Document incidents, responses, and actions accurately in incident management or computer-aided dispatch systems.
• Communicate critical updates to security personnel, hospital leadership, emergency services, and other stakeholders.
• Escalate high-priority incidents and help resolve security hardware or software issues with vendors and internal support.

Requirements

• High-school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of the IAHSS Basic exam within 90 days of hire and continued maintenance of IAHSS Basic certification.
• Effective interpersonal, written, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to document incidents accurately, manage multiple priorities, and remain calm in fast-paced situations.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and operate computer equipment; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the Internet.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of 24/7 physical security operations.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in security dispatching or a similar role.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Valid driver’s license.
