TL;DR
Corrosion Technician (Pipeline Integrity): Operating and maintaining cathodic protection facilities and corrosion-control systems for pipelines, terminals, and other energy infrastructure with an accent on internal corrosion programs, CP surveys, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Focus on analyzing corrosion data, supervising field contractors, repairing protection systems, and performing outdoor pipeline integrity work across remote areas.

Location: Onsite in Phoenix or Tucson, Arizona, United States. Field travel to remote areas, overnight stays, outdoor work, and 24-hour call-out may be required.

What you will do

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot cathodic protection facilities, including rectifiers, ground beds, sacrificial anode systems, test stations, cables, alarm modules, and rectifier stacks.
  • Plan and implement corrosion-control and pipeline-integrity activities for pipelines, tanks, terminals, and related facilities.
  • Evaluate internal corrosion programs through chemical injection monitoring, corrosion coupons, swab scheduling, bacterial analysis, and water composition analysis.
  • Conduct CIS and depolarization surveys, coating inspections, ultrasonic thickness testing, line locating, repairs, and remedial actions.
  • Manage and supervise contractor crews during coating, ground-bed, and CP-system projects and complete required documentation.
  • Support regulatory inspections, budgets, operator qualifications, inspection tracking, and special projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • 1–3 years of experience in pipeline or related operations.
  • AMPP/NACE cathodic protection or corrosion technologist certification.
  • Hands-on experience with PCS/CPDM software and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and capacity to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather, navigate pipeline rights-of-way, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, drive for extended periods, and respond to 24-hour call-outs.
