Generator Technician (Power Generators)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Full-time, on-site role with off-site equipment and customer service duties.

Salary: $27–$30 per hour plus bonus

What you will do

• Repair, refurbish, maintain, and diagnose engine-driven power generators.
• Assemble diesel, electric, gas, and propane generator equipment for rental.
• Test and calibrate machines to confirm they are functional for rental or sale.
• Replace defective parts, perform preventive maintenance, and order required components.
• Inspect returned equipment for operation and customer damage.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment; document repairs and maintain a safe, organized work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to service equipment and customers off-site.
• Knowledge of power-generating, welding, combustion-engine, or electrical equipment is preferred.
• Diesel engine knowledge and experience with PLC engine and generator controllers are preferred.
