Manager, Software Localization Engineering

Location: Based in Cary, North Carolina, with 3 days per week in-office. Collaboration across time zones and meetings outside standard working hours may be required.

What you will do

• Lead a team of localization engineers and set the team's strategic direction.
• Design, scale, and operate localization platforms, services, and infrastructure.
• Guide machine translation and LLM-based localization workflows and automation initiatives.
• Oversee integrations across product systems, content platforms, and development pipelines.
• Partner with engineering, QA, localization project management, and internationalization stakeholders.
• Measure and improve localization quality, productivity, delivery outcomes, and operational performance.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in technical localization management and 2 years of people management.
• At least 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience and a track record of leading engineering teams and technical projects.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Expertise in AI/ML technologies applied to developer tools or localization workflows.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or a similar programming language; TMS tools and workflows; and GitHub Enterprise.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Neural Machine Translation and AI/ML-based tools, services, or plugins.
• Experience with automated localization testing frameworks such as Robot Framework and Playwright.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
• Master's degree.
