Binding Authority Renewal Underwriter (Personal Lines)

Location: Morristown, NJ, USA

Salary: $55,000–$60,000 annual

What you will do

• Process and underwrite personal lines renewal business to support revenue growth, retention, and profitability.
• Review applications, insurance maps, loss experience, insured files, agency experience, and inspection reports to assess risk.
• Request additional information, accept or reject risks, and make decisions in line with company underwriting guidelines.
• Prepare accurate applications, quotes, binders, policies, state filings, tax payments, and renewal notices.
• Advise brokers on underwriting requirements, adverse decisions, rate appeals, recommendations, and non-renewals.
• Track renewal dates, service existing business, and assist with training processors and assistants.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional telephone demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work in Morristown, New Jersey, USA.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Valid Property and Casualty license or progress toward obtaining one.
