Senior NDE Specialist, Immersion Ultrasonic Testing (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead immersion ultrasonic testing technique development and continuous improvement campaigns.
• Develop and publish part-specific IUT techniques for complex aerospace propulsion parts.
• Plan and program automated IUT inspections and evaluate acquired data against acceptance criteria.
• Develop feasibility studies, probability of detection plans, and qualification plans with UT specialists, inspectors, and NDE engineers.
• Mentor and train less experienced inspectors while providing inspection oversight.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors on inspection results, process improvements, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Current ASNT Level 3 certification in UT, PAUT, or IUT under NAS 410, SNT-TC-1A, or an equivalent standard, with supporting documentation.
• At least 3 years working in a Level 3 capacity for immersion ultrasonic testing of aerospace propulsion parts across varied materials and geometries.
• At least 5 years of verifiable UT Level 3 experience in aerospace or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience contributing to system design and qualification efforts for aerospace customers.
• Knowledge of immersion tank vendors and applicable NASA, AMS, AWS/ASME, and ASTM standards, including experience auditing third-party NDE vendors.
• Strong PAUT knowledge, familiarity with FMC, TFM, PCI, and PWI reconstruction algorithms, and experience interpreting inspection data, engineering instructions, and drawings.

Nice to have

• BS or MS in a STEM field.
