TL;DR
NDE Level III Technician (NDE): Providing technical leadership for Visual Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing programs with an accent on procedure qualification, personnel certification, code interpretation, and support for commercial and nuclear quality programs. Focus on developing inspection procedures, investigating NDE-related nonconformances, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Location: North Kingstown, Rhode Island, United States; onsite

Salary: $105,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

  • Serve as the designated Level III technical authority for Visual Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing.
  • Develop, review, approve, and maintain NDE procedures, techniques, forms, and work instructions.
  • Train, examine, qualify, certify, and recertify NDE personnel.
  • Interpret applicable codes, standards, specifications, engineering drawings, and customer requirements.
  • Support production, qualification testing, audits, customer requirements, nonconformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate NDE equipment and inspection technologies while supporting continuous improvement and occasional travel to facilities, suppliers, customers, or training venues.

Requirements

  • Current or previous Level III certification in Visual Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing under ASNT SNT-TC-1A or an equivalent employer-based program.
  • At least five years of NDE experience in an industrial, manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, defense, or nuclear environment.
  • Experience developing and approving NDE procedures, inspection instructions, and personnel certifications.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, welding documentation, and inspection requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Strong technical writing, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and independent prioritization skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

  • Additional NDE certifications in Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Testing, or Eddy Current Testing.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, ASME, NQA-1, or CSA N299 quality systems and related audits.
