Video Journalist (Money, Work & Tech)

Location: Washington, USA; the role works from the hirify.global's New York bureau and requires the right to live and work in the US.

Salary: $72,000–$88,000 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Shoot, edit, and produce video content for hirify.global News under tight deadlines.
• Generate original story ideas and create distinctive video content for television, websites, TikTok, Instagram, and other social platforms.
• Cover corporate news, personal finance, economic policy, business, and economics.
• Operate and help maintain a live TV studio for the daily business bulletin from New York.
• Respond quickly to breaking news and use visual storytelling to explain complex subjects clearly.
• Collaborate with correspondents, reporters, producers, the New York bureau, and the wider Money, Work & Tech team in London and elsewhere.

Requirements

• Professional experience filming and editing video for news or corporate platforms.
• Experience producing content for social media platforms.
• Experience working for a reputable news organisation.
• Experience or demonstrable interest in business, finance, and economics.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines, with strong news judgement and storytelling skills.
• Must have the right to live and work in the US, including US citizenship, a Green Card, or other work authorisation.

Nice to have

• Experience incorporating data and charts into finished video material.
• Ability to work with multiple staff members and across teams.
• Ability to set up and operate live equipment.
