Italian Sports Localization Specialist (Football)

Location: Remote, worldwide, or Italy, including Milan and Rome

Salary: $25–$31 per hour

What you will do

• Review, translate, localize, fact-check, and adapt football-related content for Italian audiences.
• Follow writing style guides, localization guidelines, and quality-control requirements.
• Research local content, terminology trends, and localization practices for the target market.
• Provide feedback on written content and support quality evaluation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or at least two years of experience in linguistics, sports journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing.
• Extensive sports knowledge, especially football.
• Experience translating and localizing multimedia content, preferably including machine translation evaluation.
• Native-level Italian with excellent grammar, writing, proofreading, editing, and creative-writing skills.
• Excellent English writing skills.
• Practical knowledge of computers, mobile devices, word processors, and spreadsheets.
• A licensed version of Microsoft Office is required.

Nice to have

• Published work on ESPN, The Athletic, FourFourTwo, or similar platforms.
• Experience with sports media platforms, live-score applications, or sports streaming services.
• Ability to adapt voice and style for Gen Z, football-fan, and pop-culture audiences.
